There is plenty of material for the continuing story of The Wheel of Time in Season 3. After all, the book series by fantasy author Robert Jordans is a 14-volume epic*, of which season 2 just filmed the second and third novels. In all likelihood, the new season will tackle the fourth volume of the fantasy saga, The Shadow Rises*.

In it, the reunited companions part ways once again after Rand has achieved victory in Falme and revealed himself to the world as the Dragon Reborn. Rand (Josha Stradowski), Mat (the newly cast Dónal Finn) and Egwene (Madeleine Madden) set off together for the Aiel Desert, where the Dragon’s warriors live. Perrin (Marcus Rutherford), on the other hand, goes back to the home of the Two Rivers.

Also, Daniel Henney promised to Collider right now a reunion of his guardian Lan with Zoe Robins’ Nynaeve. However, the threat in the land continues to grow and the confrontation between Rand and the Dark King in an epic battle is getting closer. It’s about time we got to know the great villain of the fantasy world of The Wheel of Time better, as he has only shown his power through his henchmen Ishamael (Fares Fares) and Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe) so far. Before his death by Rand’s sword, Ishamael also freed the rest of the 13 “Lost Ones,” like spider-woman Moghedien (Laia Costa).

After Rosamund Pike was initially less than thrilled with her Season 2 change, the actress will then return to full duty as the Aes Sedai in The Wheel of Time, now that she has access to her magic again. Showrunner Rafe Judkins promised on X that “Season 3 will be even more ambitious, richer and deeper than Season 2.
